Technical Trial Progress: Mold Optimization for Waste Plastic Solid Profile Extrusion
Yongte is professional manufacturer for plastic lumber making machine, we have two types of plastic lumber machine, one type is plastic lumber extrusion line for making small plastic lumber products by continously extrusion, but this line can only making the thickness less than 30mm solid or hollow plastic lumber products. another type is plastic lumber extrusion and flow molding machine for making big solid plastic lumber products, such as round plastic pole, square plastic post, solid plastic panels with big thickness.. but more and more customer wants to make 30-50mm thickness plastic lumber by continously extrusion which can make production automatically and length can be customizec cut, so we are doing reasearch testing based on this needs.
Our team recently completed a new round of extrusion trial production for 200*50mm solid thick plastic profiles, also known as plastic lumber. The core objective of this project is to achieve standardized, continuous and automated mass production of high-performance solid plastic lumber using waste plastics as the raw material, promoting technical iteration and industrial upgrading of waste plastic recycling and high-value reprocessing.
In this trial, our high-efficiency vented extruder, the core equipment of the plastic lumber machine production line, delivered excellent plasticization and melting performance for waste plastic materials. It effectively solved common problems such as incomplete melting and impurity inclusion in recycled plastic processing, achieving a uniform molten state of materials and laying a solid foundation for high-quality plastic lumber profile molding.
Nevertheless, we identified key structural defects in the current mold design of the plastic lumber machine during formal trial operation. The excessive overall length of the three-stage sizing die led to excessively high head pressure in the extrusion system. This issue triggered two prominent production bottlenecks: local bulging defects in the middle section of the finished plastic lumber and a sharp reduction in extrusion speed, which severely restricted production efficiency and product yield stability.
