Today, Yongte is pleased to announce that it has secured a custom order from an African client for a set of high-efficiency energy-saving extruders, which will be specifically used for recycling plastic bag/film waste across Africa. This cooperation marks Yongte’s official entry into the African plastic recycling market, demonstrating its commitment to supporting global environmental protection and promoting the circular economy in emerging regions, and echoes the growing demand for sustainable waste management solutions in the Global South.
Plastic pollution, particularly plastic bag/film waste, has become a pressing environmental challenge in Africa. Recent studies indicate that uncollected waste is the main source of plastic pollution in the region, with plastic bag waste accounting for nearly half of the plastic waste generated in some African countries — for instance, in Ethiopia, plastic bags make up 46% of the country’s plastic waste, prompting the government to ban disposable plastic bags to curb pollution. It is estimated that a large amount of plastic waste leaks into the environment each year, imposing a heavy burden on local ecosystems and waste management systems. The custom extruder ordered this time is tailor-made by Yongte to address the characteristics of African plastic bag waste, which is diverse in types and complex in composition, and is committed to providing an efficient, energy-saving and sustainable recycling solution for the client.
The high-efficiency energy-saving extruder to be produced integrates multiple advanced technologies to ensure stable performance and environmental friendliness, drawing on the latest innovations in plastic recycling equipment. Adopting power saving strong motor drive system and high torque durable gearbox, the extruder achieves a transmission efficiency of over 95%, reducing energy consumption by 10% to 20% compared with traditional models — a key advantage in regions where energy efficiency is a critical consideration. Its integrated design combines high-torque drive unit, double screw extrusion, long L/D ratio barrel and segmented heating modules, the extruder can work for plastic film/bag wastage directly eliminating the need for pre-shredding of plastic bag waste and significantly reducing labor costs and floor space, which aligns with the practical needs of African waste recycling facilities. Equipped with an intelligent control system (adopting well-known brand components for stability), the extruder supports one-click start and stop, and realizes remote monitoring and information transmission, which greatly improves operation convenience and stability, even for operators with limited technical experience.
In terms of recycling performance, the extruder is highly adaptable to various plastic bag materials, including LDPE, HDPE and PP, which are common in African plastic waste. It is equipped with degassing system and double screw extrusion technology used in high-performance recycling equipment), which can effectively extrusion and ensure that the recycled plastic are uniform plastizated, meeting the needs of downstream production and reuse. At the same time, the extruder adopts high-efficiency electromagnetic heating technology, with a thermal efficiency of over 85%, which not only reduces heat loss but also ensures precise temperature control to avoid material degradation during the extrusion process — a key feature for maintaining the quality of recycled plastic materials. With a modular design, the extruder can be flexibly adjusted according to different material characteristics, further enhancing its adaptability to the diverse plastic waste in Africa. and the material made by this extruder can be directly used for making Plastic basins, plastic buckets, plastic stools etc. by our plastic molding machine.

This cooperation not only expands Yongte’s global market layout but also sets a good example for Sino-African cooperation in environmental protection and circular economy, following the footsteps of successful Chinese green energy and environmental projects in Africa that focus on mutual benefit and sustainable development. In the future, Yongte will continue to focus on technological innovation in plastic recycling equipment, develop more efficient, energy-saving and environmentally friendly products, and contribute more to global plastic pollution control — particularly in regions like Africa that are most affected by plastic waste.
